Posted in Uncategorized on April 12, 2009 by suburbanfrkIndian Rock was a surprise because of how close to home it is and I never knew it was there. The way the natural brush and trees will fight the imposters for survival is a cool thing to see in action at the Indian Rock site. The remains of the house along with the rock structure make a great hiding place and home for lizards, birds, snakes, spiders and I caught a glimpse of this and shared some of the wild life in the photos.
Rincon

The Rincon fieldtrip was more of hands on, help out, type of an outing with a result of fewer quality pictures but the goal was to help plant plants which should still be there years from now, so for that we succeeded. The pictures here include a toad, California fuchsia, toyon and we can’t forget the labor, students. The water lines were the main thing to keep in mind when it came to where to plant each plant for our section because we only had a few oak trees for our large trees to consider. Everything else was a bushy short plant which didn’t require much room between (aprox 10 ft on center). This wasn’t one of my better shoots but I recorded some of the key elements and I will remember the event when I look at the pictures, which is one of the key elements for taking a photo.
Pechanga

The Pechanga field trip was a good experience but was a cold one. We did a bit of hiking around but not enough to get the blood flowing to keep warm. The old Oak tree was unbelievable. Unfortunately most of the time there were students in each shot but I managed to pull off a shot with no students visible and it came out phenomenal. The nursery had a heated green house which was a nice break from the cold and this is where one of the close-up pictures came from. The close-up plant pictures as I’ve said before aren’t my style of pictures but nonetheless I feel these are a couple of the better ones I’ve taken. Thus far. That’s the thing about photography as Sally Mann mentioned each photo pushes you to make a better, more interesting one.

Tierra Miguel 2-23
Posted in 1 on March 2, 2009 by suburbanfrkThe top picture seems to be a nice strong picture and the second one of the tree I couldn’t decide if I liked the Photoshop effects or not so give me back some feedback. The center picture is how the camera first recorded the scene the others are manipulated off that. The bottom Photo isnt really my style of photographing but i think it is still a stong image.
The tour was an excellent experience and I thought it would be better to do a up close and personal tour to get better shots and better detailed information.
